The latest craze in the music scene has become selling your music/art as an NFT. I think this has a great potential for musicians to sell their music. NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) are essentially crypto contracts for rights to a piece of art. These can include royalties as well if you so choose. After looking through all possible NFT platforms, GhostMarket looks to be the best choice for listing Music NFTs. They have a large offering of NFT objects available and are currently the cheapest to list on. This may be the wave of the future in terms of musician licensing and sample selling.
HouseofNFT is currently running a promotion to list 5 NFTs free by signing up at their site. They have a good instruction set on how to get setup and rolling. https://houseofnft.com/
Basic steps to list:
- Download Poltergeist Wallet
- Sign up at houseofNFT for free KCal and ghost tokens (alternatively just buy some)
- Once you have tokens, go to ghostmarket.io and mint your NFT
Comment below if you have any questions about this, or if you think this is the future of selling music.
